CUSWPC takes part in many competitions throughout the year for both Swimming and Water Polo. For each sport there is often one major competition that occurs throughout the year.
Swimming
For Swimming, the two large competitions that CUSWPC takes part in are BUCS and Varsity. These are specifically for those in the Seconds and Blues Squad.
In Easter term, there is also the Cuppers competition, which is a competition against other colleges. This is open to everyone at Cambridge University, not just those who were members of CUSWPC. Furthermore, it is encouraged that if you have not swam throughout the year that you take part in Cuppers.
A lot of the swimmers also take part in Counties, Regionals, and Nationals.
The Blues Swimmers also take part in BUSL (British University Swimming League) which is a competition that runs throughout all of Michaelmas and some of Lent. It is against other universities however is a league competition in that each university is paired with another and then those universities will compete once, then this is repeated with other universities. Water Polo
For Water Polo, the two large competitions that CUSWPC takes part in are also BUCS and Varsity, and is open for those who qualify for them. BUCS is formatted a bit differently, and instead runs throughout the year, either as a league or a knockout tournament.
There is also a Water Polo Cuppers competition, which students outside CUSWPC are allowed to join.
There are other competitions that the Water Polo team take part in, which may occur for example when they are at their training camp in Winter.
