Cuppers is an annual inter-collegiate competition hosted in Cambridge. CUSWPC hosts both the Swimming and Water Polo Cuppers. Unlike with other competitions throughout the year, Cuppers is open to everyone who wishes to take part, even if they aren’t part of the society.
Swimming
Swimming Cuppers lasts around 2 hours, and consists of the following events for both Male/Open and Female (not necessarily in this order):
- 100m Individual Medley
- 50m Backstroke
- 50m Breaststroke
- 50m Fly
- 50m Free
- 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay
- 4 x 50 Medley Relay
Each competitor is allowed to swim in at most 2 individual races and 2 relays, with the exception of those who have a Blue or a Half Blue in Swimming, who may only swim in the relays.
You can view the the results from past years, and the college relay records in the tables below. Some merged colleges have different names (such as Pink in 2026). The colleges making up that team have been labelled below the table.

(2026 *): Queens’, Downing, Fitzwilliam, Pembroke, King’s were joined together as each college did not have enough swimmers taking part.
Water Polo
There is also a Water Polo Cuppers, which takes place in Easter as well. Often swimmers take part in these. In some years, the competition is extended to local clubs as well rather than just colleges.
