OPEN WATER SWIMMING

There are a number of opportunities for Open Water swimming at Cambridge. Every two years, Oxford and Cambridge battle it out in the Varsity Channel Relay Swim, with a team of six swimmers from each University completing hour shifts until the job is done. In 2018 the race will take place between 27th June-1st July.  There is also the annual Varsity Henley Classic, a 2.1km open water river-race down the Royal Henley Regatta course. With both the ‘Varsity’ race and the ‘mob match’ offering opportunities for a Cambridge victory, come June, every swimmer counts!

Training with the team will involve weekly sessions in the River Cambridge, in the lake at Milton Country Park, and in Jesus Green Lido – a beautiful outdoor 94m pool in the heart of Cambridge.
